Write about a Health or wellness item that tops your wish list this year.

Dear Santa,

I’ve been a really good girl this year.  Really really good. I got motived and inspired and started my own Social Media company (Jost Media) and have kicked my eating issue’s ass.  I’m officially living a healthy lifestyle and not fretting or being insecure anymore!  

As you can see from my last post, 2011 Healthy Holiday Gift Guide!, I would like a lot of things.  If I had to choose just one- it would be the Spiritual Gangster Sweater.

“Gangster” isn’t derogatory.  It can be a positive term that signifies carrying the right attitude.  Yoga is badass.  It has improved every aspect of my life: mind, body, and spirit.  Yoga has helped me become a better person inside and out.  I talk about the positive benefits of it to anyone who will listen. (Santa, you  might want to think about incorporating Yoga into your daily routine .  Those cookies add up.  I’m giving you carrots this year ; )

 I saw this sweater (it used to come as a tank top but I think they are out of them now) and I feel in love.  This sweater, like yoga, is also badass.  To me, It signifies carrying the right spiritual attitude towards everything in life.  I would LOVE to get it for Christmas and wear it to my Yoga classes!

It’s the most wonderful time of the year!  I love getting together with friends and family to celebrate and eat delicious food.  Many people get stressed about what to give their loved ones during this time.  Gift giving is supposed to be joyful and something you do to put a smile on someone’s face.

It is important to be thankful not only on Thanksgiving but every single day of your life.

Practicing gratitude is a way of giving thanks everyday.  Every morning before I leave my home I stop and think of the people I am grateful for.  I think of how grateful I am for my life and my purpose.  I send thoughts of gratitude into nature for continuing to inspire me and sustain me.

Giving thoughts away is like praying.  I like to visualize a garden of trees and flowers with an old stone wishing well.  It is here that I send my thoughts of happiness and abundance to the people that grace my life in so many ways.

Thoughts are a powerful gift- energy follows thought and this is the way to manifesting health and well being.  In your daily gratitude, remember to be grateful for YOURSELF!  You cannot truly give to others until you have given to yourself:  time to dream, time to care for yourself, time to rest, time to play.  When your needs are met you will give effortlessly because you are Full-Filled.

Your cup will run over from you to everyone else.

Practice this everyday.

I sampled the

Green Dream Smoothie

which included spirulina, fresh vanilla pod, cinnamon, raw vegan sprouted protein powder, maca, tocos (vit.E), chia seeds, hemp seeds and loads more goodness…!

They recommend using an organic banana, 2 Tbsp of Powder, Almond Milk, Almond Butter, Coconut Butter, ice cubes, honey (you don’t even need this though!), & a dash of cinnamon.

I’ve had my share of smoothies ( I consider myself quite the expert) and this mixture is really delicious!

My Green Mustache

Health & Happiness

NYC Blogger Playdate @ Five Points Academy (Photo courtesy of Keelie)

I’ve seen blogger playdates all over Healthy Living Blogs and I’ve always wanted to join in on the fun.  I get inspired and a ‘natural high’ when I’m around like-minded people and it’s always great to make new friends (esp ones that can help keep you motivated!)  So I was really excited when I met Jess from Fit Chick in the City at the Lady FootLocker Event and she told me about Keelie.  Keelie is an amazing blogger from Sweat= Success  who sets up these wonderful NYC Blogger dates.

For November we all went to Five Points Academy on Canal Street for a Kettle Ball class.

It was my first time meeting everyone and taking a Kettle Ball class so I was a little nervous but nothing that a little sweat and increased heart rate couldn’t fix.

Kettle Ball kicked my ass.

I consider myself in great shape (and it is now 2 days later) and I have never been so sore in my life!  I worked muscles in my back that I didn’t even know I had.  It’s a good sore feeling though : )

Work those Legs!

After our workout we headed to Patois on Mulberry St. for brunch and a little chit chat.  Brunch on the weekends in NYC is one of my favorite things to do in life.  And Patois offered an awesome deal- $12.95 for coffee, 2 mimosas, & entrée.  It was fun talking to everyone about their blogs and what inspires them to lead a healthy life.  I learned about running and proper alignment (I realized my back/hips have been hurting probably because I walk on the sides of my feet!)
